High industrial wastewater content in municipal water affects fluorescence properties.
The study looked at the fluorescence properties of wastewater containing mostly industrial waste. Three distinct fluorescence peaks were found in the wastewater, different from those in wastewater with household sewage. The fluorescence intensity varied between weekdays and weekends, likely due to the industrial waste content. This fluorescence fingerprint method is a quick and informative way to monitor water quality and detect issues early on.
