Optimizing nitrogen and potassium ratios boosts quality of Jiyuan tobacco leaves.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen and the ratio of nitrogen to potassium affect the growth and quality of Jiyuan flue-cured tobacco. They found that adjusting the nitrogen to potassium ratio can impact leaf weight, potassium content, and aroma compounds. Increasing nitrogen with a balanced ratio can improve leaf weight and quality traits, while reducing nitrogen while maintaining the ratio can control nitrogen levels, stabilize yields, and enhance tobacco quality.
