Spatial variability of soil nutrients in vegetable fields impacts crop yield.
The study looked at soil nutrients and pH levels in a vegetable field near Taihu Lake. They took soil samples and found that different nutrients varied in their distribution across the field. Some nutrients showed a linear pattern, while others followed an exponential trend. Total nitrogen and pH levels were moderately correlated, while NH4-N had the largest correlated distance. NH4-N showed strong spatial correlation over a large area, while available P and K had medium correlated distances. Overall, the study found significant differences in the spatial distribution of soil nutrients and pH in the vegetable field.
