New bridge design cuts costs and improves reliability for medium-span structures.
The main goal of the study was to design and analyze the main bridge of Tangbaihe River Bridge. The researchers used a prestressed concrete continuous box girder with variable cross section for the superstructure and hollow section thin-wall reinforced concrete piers on bored pile foundations for the piers. The key findings of the study provide useful guidance for creating reliable, cost-effective, and well-designed medium-span continuous girders.
