Migration of skilled workers boosts service industry, reshaping urban landscapes
This study looked at how different types of workers moving to different areas in China affect the growth of service industries. They found that when highly skilled workers move to an area, it helps the business services there grow, but doesn't have much impact on consumer services. On the other hand, when low-skilled workers move to an area, it helps consumer services grow, but doesn't do much for business services. Overall, highly skilled workers have a bigger impact on the growth of service industries than low-skilled workers.
