Landfill leachate recirculation technology can improve the quality of leachate, speed up waste disposal, increase methane production, and reduce maintenance costs. By recirculating leachate into waste, spraying it on the surface, or recycling it under the waste, the removal rate of pollutants can reach 95%, the disposing speed of organic matter can be increased, and methane production can be doubled. Controlling waste composition, recirculation timing, and leachate pH can enhance the recirculating effect. However, the process may produce unpleasant odors that need to be managed.
