Soil erosion risk revealed by soil particle size distribution fractals.
The study looked at soil in Western Henan to see how different land uses affect soil particle size. They found that soil particles are smaller in the area, which helps with soil and water conservation. The fractal dimensions of soil particles varied among land uses, with natural secondary forests having the highest dimension. Soil erosion levels can be indicated by soil particle fractal dimensions. The amount of clay in the soil is related to the fractal dimension, with higher clay content leading to larger fractal dimensions. Only available potassium content showed a significant correlation with soil particle fractal dimensions.
