Rapid currents and high sediment concentration shape Qiqu Archipelago dynamics.
The Qiqu Archipelago, located in China, has complex water currents and sediment patterns due to its unique shape and location. The dynamics are influenced by the balance of river runoff, tides, and waves. Sediment transportation is mainly determined by the amount of suspended sediment from the Changjiang Estuary and the strength of the flow. Analysis of data from 1996 and 1997 shows that the area has fast currents, high sediment levels, and minimal deposition.
