Regeneration of Flooded Forests: Pinus & Betula Populations Thrive in Adversity.
The study looked at how Pinus tabulaeformis and Betula platyphylla trees grow back in flooded areas. They found that the size distribution of Pinus tabulaeformis trees was mostly the same, while Betula platyphylla trees were more common on shady slopes. Pinus tabulaeformis trees had a certain survival pattern, while Betula platyphylla trees had a different one. The growth of Pinus tabulaeformis trees depended on the land, while Betula platyphylla trees were affected by how far the seeds came from and how well they grew.
