Whole-grain foods in Shanxi found to have low glycemic index.
The study measured the glycemic index (GI) of 15 whole-grain and coarse cereal foods in Shanxi to help prevent chronic metabolic diseases. They tested blood sugar levels after eating the foods and found that saute millet and pancake have low GI, while corn cake and three-flour noodles have moderate GI. Whole-grain foods generally have a lower impact on blood sugar levels.
