The study looked at the sedimentary system of the Jurassic period in western Sichuan. They found that the area had four main sedimentary systems: alluvial fans, rivers, deltas, and lakes. The researchers identified different sub-facies within these systems and determined that the deposition in the area followed a pattern from alluvial fans to rivers, then deltas, and finally lakes. Overall, the sedimentary model in the region is mainly characterized by alluvial fan-river-delta-lake sequences.
