Grazing Threatens Subalpine Meadow Communities in Yunding Mountain, Shanxi
The study analyzed subalpine meadow communities in Yunding Mountain, Shanxi. They identified five different meadow communities at varying altitudes and described their characteristics, including dominant species and environmental factors. The distribution of these communities was influenced by altitude, grazing intensity, moisture, and heating conditions. As altitude increased, certain plant species became more dominant. Meadow communities on semi-sunny, semi-shady, and shady slopes had higher species diversity due to better habitat conditions, while intensive grazing degraded habitat quality. Grazing also disrupted the succession of meadow communities in the area.
