The Nanhua Period in Liaoning region shows a progression from terrigenous clastic rocks to stable carbonate rock platform. By studying the lithofacies paleogeography, six sedimentary facies were identified, including littoral, neritic shelf, open platform, restricted platform, fluvial, and alluvial fan facies.
