A new hybrid rice called Nei7you 39 was created by combining two different types of rice plants. It was developed by a research center in Neijiang and has been used for commercial production since 2012 in Sichuan province. Nei7you 39 has high and consistent yields, good grain quality, strong resistance to a disease called blast, and can grow well in different conditions.
