The study looked at the relationship between the decrease in arable land in Jiangsu Province and its economic growth. They found that the decrease in arable land was not directly causing economic growth, but rather economic growth was leading to the decrease in arable land. The conversion of arable land into construction land was a major factor in the decrease. This unsustainable trend needs to be addressed by adjusting economic structure, improving land use efficiency, and perfecting land provision systems to support economic growth.
