Slope erosion worsens with rainfall, urgent conservation needed on steep slopes.
The study looked at how rainfall affects runoff and sediment on purple soil slopes. They used artificial rainfall to simulate different conditions. They found that as rainfall gets heavier, initial runoff on the slope decreases. The total runoff increases with steeper slopes and heavier rainfall. Sediment yield also goes up with steeper slopes and more rain. On slopes of 10°, 15°, and 20°, sediment yield ranged from 3,106.03 g to 8,117.09 g. It's important to use water and soil conservation methods on slopes of 10 degrees or more.
