Optimal soil moisture levels boost growth of Amygdalus davidiana trees.
The study looked at how different levels of soil moisture affect the way Amygdalus davidiana plants photosynthesize and use water. They found that when the soil was between 39.7% and 57.3% water, the plants grew best. At higher soil moisture levels, the plants had trouble with photosynthesis because of issues with their stomata. The best time for the plants to photosynthesize efficiently was in the morning, and they did better on shady slopes.
