Black sand boosts wheat yield, meadow chernozem struggles with moisture
The study looked at how different types of soil and moisture levels affect the yield of spring wheat. They found that the spring wheat variety Kefeng 12 had the highest yield in black sand loamy soil, followed by leached chernozem and meadow chernozem. The soil moisture content in the different soil types affected the yield, with black sand loamy soil having better moisture for wheat growth. In contrast, leached chernozem had too much moisture, and meadow chernozem had too little, leading to lower yields. This shows that soil fertility and moisture content play a crucial role in determining the success of spring wheat crops.
