A new high-yielding hybrid rice combination called Teyouhang No 2 was developed by crossing male sterile rice with a restorer line. In tests in Fujian province, Teyouhang No 2 showed an average yield 10.27% higher than the control variety Shanyou 63. This hybrid rice has good qualities like stable high yield and wide adaptability to different environments. It was approved by the Fujian Province Variety Committee in 2007.
