Remote sensing reveals uneven grassland distribution impacting animal husbandry in Zulihe
Researchers used satellite imagery to study grassland productivity in the Zulihe River Basin. They calculated two vegetation indexes and created a model to predict grassland biomass. The results showed that one index was more accurate than the other, and the southern region had higher vegetation biomass than the north. They found that over half of the grassland was unusable for forage, limiting animal husbandry in the area.
