Deadly Landslides Strike Yanhe Basin in 2013 After Extreme Rainstorm.
An extreme rainstorm in Yanhe Basin in 2013 caused many landslides. The study looked at landslides in six small areas in the basin. The heaviest rain was in July, with Baota District getting the most rain. Landslides were biggest in areas farther from the central rainstorm, with shallow landslides on slopes of 20° to 60°. Most landslides were small, with over 78% being less than 1,000 m3 in volume. Few landslides were larger than 5,000 m3.
