High ethnic identity linked to low ethnic distinction among college students.
The study looked at how college students in minority areas view their own ethnic group and others. They found that students who strongly identify with their own ethnic group tend to have less negative views of other ethnic groups. Han and minority students had different attitudes towards people from different ethnic groups. The study showed that a person's ethnic identity directly affects how they see other ethnic groups. The environment and competition between individuals also play a role in shaping these views.
