Safer Coal Mining Unlocks Deeper Seams, Boosts Energy Security
The researchers studied how the ground pressure changes in a coal mine with steep slopes. They looked at a specific mine in Zhongping to see how the pressure builds up and moves along the mining face. They found that the ground pressure goes up and down in small sections, and shifts slowly over a distance of 12 to 23 meters. The team also tested ways to keep the roof intact and prevent stuff from sliding off the equipment. These methods were tried in the same mine and worked well, helping to keep things safe and cost-effective.
