New drug combo could save lives in acute lung injury
In a study with rats, a combination of Ambroxol and Dexamethasone was tested to see how it affected acute lung injury caused by a bacterial substance called lipopolysaccharide. The rats were divided into different groups and given various treatments. The results showed that the Ambroxol and Dexamethasone combination improved blood oxygen levels, reduced lung inflammation, and lowered levels of inflammatory substances compared to the control group. The rats also had healthier lung tissue under the microscope. The researchers concluded that using Ambroxol and Dexamethasone together had a stronger protective effect on lung injury in rats compared to using them alone.
