Optimizing Dry Matter Accumulation Boosts Quality and Yield of Tobacco.
The study looked at how dry matter accumulates in different types of tobacco plants in the field. By studying 8 varieties over 2 years and 7 sites, researchers found that the amount of dry matter and the rate of accumulation varied between varieties and years. They discovered that the period between 55 and 70 days after planting is crucial for tobacco growth and yield. Strengthening cultivation practices during this time can lead to better quality and higher yields of tobacco.
