Global climate change leading to significant decrease in relative humidity in semiarid regions.
The study looked at how humidity in semi-arid areas changes due to global climate change. Researchers analyzed data from five sites in western Jilin Province from 1953 to 2002. They found that overall, humidity has been slightly decreasing over the past 50 years, with significant drops in September and October. Humidity levels are highest in August, followed by January, and lowest in April and October. Summer and autumn have higher humidity than spring and winter. Temperature and precipitation are the main factors affecting humidity, with wind speed also playing a role. Temperature and wind speed increase humidity, while precipitation decreases it.
