A new maize variety called Longfuyu No.4 was created by combining two parent plants. This new variety grows quickly, produces good quality corn, and gives high yields. It needs a certain amount of warmth to grow well. Tests done from 1997 to 2001 showed that Longfuyu No.4 consistently gave high yields. It was officially approved and named in February 2004.
