A new divided no-till wheat planter was designed by China Agricultural University to tackle the issue of blocked planters in North China's double cropping areas. The planter combines strip-rotary tillage and single-disc openers to chop stubble, open furrows, and plant seeds and fertilizer in one go. Field tests showed the machine works well in maize stubble fields, with minimal soil disturbance. The design supports direct planting in these areas, meeting agronomic standards.
