New UV-Fenton Process Boosts Wastewater Biodegradability by 95%
The researchers studied how to clean polyether wastewater using a special process called Catalytic UV-Fenton Oxidation. They tested different amounts of chemicals and time to see what worked best. They found that using a pH of 3, 40 mL/L of H2O2, a ratio of 9 parts H2O2 to 1 part Fe2+, and 90 minutes of reaction time can remove over 70% of the pollutants. After treatment, the wastewater became easier to clean up, making it better for the next step of treatment.
