TM Image Reveals Decrease in Desertification, Restoring Northern China's Land
The TM image is used to monitor land desertification in North China. By analyzing remote sensing data, researchers established an indicator system to track changes in surface features, soil, vegetation, and ecosystems. In the Mu Us Region, desertified land decreased by 1,936 km² from 1987 to 1993, indicating a reversal of desertification. This method allows for monitoring and assessing desertification using remote sensing and GIS techniques, leading to quantitative analysis and economic assessment of desertification in North China.
