The research on China's vocational education in the past thirty years focused on understanding basic issues, the impact of ideologies, and identifying problems in the system. Despite progress, there are still shortcomings that can be addressed by learning from foreign educational theories and developing a systematic vocational education theory to guide further improvements in China's vocational education.
