Althusser believed that Marx didn't just copy Hegel's ideas, but transformed them in a fundamental way. This idea has some merit because it fits with how Marx thought and encourages us to dig deeper into how Marx changed Hegel's ideas. However, it's also limited because it ignores the connection between Marx and Hegel and how Marx built on Hegel's ideas.
