Heihe River Basin Faces Water Scarcity Crisis, Ecology at Risk
The researchers studied water resources in the Heihe River Basin. They found that the basin has stable water levels due to glacier replenishment. The average water volume is 3,231 million cubic meters per year, with each person having access to 1,689 cubic meters. Leaving 750 million cubic meters for ecology still keeps water resources safe. By managing water usage and adopting water-saving technology, the eco-environment crisis downstream can be resolved. Nature water inflow from glaciers is crucial, with 2,600 million cubic meters being the critical line for water safety.
