Loess hilly areas face increased runoff and sediment due to geomorphologic factors.
The study analyzed how factors like the size of a river's watershed, its slope, and length affect the amount of water and sediment carried by the river. They found that larger watersheds and longer rivers tend to have more water and sediment flowing through them. However, rivers with steeper slopes have less water and sediment. The difference in elevation of the watershed didn't have a significant impact. The researchers also noted that there was no clear relationship between the amount of water flowing through the river and the geological factors studied.
