The researchers studied ancient texts to understand the relationship between the Xianqin Dynasty version of "Shi" and the existing versions. They looked at bamboo slips from the Chu state in Shanghai Museum and other historical sources. The researchers found that the Xianqin Dynasty version is different from the existing versions, and that the existing version of Shi Jing was edited during the Han Dynasty.
