Ammoniating rice straw with urea boosts gas production for livestock feed.
The researchers tested different levels of urea on rice straw to see how it affected gas production. They used cow stomach fluid to simulate digestion and found that gas production increased as urea levels went up. The best results were seen with 4% to 6% urea. This means that adding urea to rice straw can make it more digestible for animals.
