The article discusses how using ecosystem service value theory can help assess the environmental impact of land consolidation planning. By analyzing a case study in Xiaojian town, it was found that reducing water areas led to a 7.3% decrease in ecosystem services value. Protecting water areas during planning can minimize negative effects on the environment.
