Revolutionizing soil and water conservation with composite shrub-grasslands!
The study looked at different ways to restore degraded mountains in Yunnan province by planting a mix of shrubs and grasses. The best combination of plants was Cajanus cajan, Setaria sphacelata, Festuca arundinacea, Macroptilium atropurpureum, Trifolium repens, and Trifolium hybridum. This mix improved soil quality, reduced erosion, and helped control water and soil loss. It also increased soil stability and economic benefits. This planting model is a good way to restore degraded mountains in the Jinsha River valley.
