Climate change in Tarim River Basin leads to significant increase in runoff.
The study analyzed changes in temperature, precipitation, and runoff in the Tarim River Basin from 1961 to 2005. It found that temperatures and precipitation increased over time, with a significant rise after 2000. River runoff decreased annually, but some stations showed an increase in runoff after 2000. The analysis showed that changes in temperature and precipitation had a significant impact on runoff in the basin, especially in rivers originating from the Tarim North Kunlun mountainous region.
