The Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge will be a long-lasting sea crossing, and for the non-navigable parts, a 120-meter continuous girder bridge with composite steel truss is recommended. This type of bridge is chosen for its simple structure, standardized units, and easy maintenance. The bridge will be split into two parts, each with precast caissons and integral pier shafts. To protect against corrosion, the steel truss will have aluminum-sprayed plates and welded joints.
