Decrease in Potential Evaporation Threatens Water Resources in Weihe River Basin.
The study looked at how potential evaporation changed over time in the Guanzhong area of the Weihe River Basin. They found that as temperatures increased, potential evapotranspiration actually decreased due to lower wind speeds and less sunshine. The amount of evaporation varied throughout the year, with summer having the highest levels. Overall, potential evapotranspiration decreased by 9.16 mm every 10 years from 1955 to 2012. Factors like wind speed and sunshine duration had the biggest impact on evaporation in the area.
