Revolutionary Fertilization Combo Boosts Maize Yield and Soil Health
Long-term fertilization with a combination of chemical and organic fertilizers in red soil increased maize biomass and nutrient uptake significantly. Chemical fertilizers alone decreased soil pH, while the combination with organic manure improved soil health. Maize yield was highest with balanced fertilization and organic fertilizer. Nutrient distribution in maize showed that nitrogen was mainly in kernels and straw, phosphorus was highest in kernels, and potassium was highest in straw. The study concluded that a mix of chemical and organic fertilizers boosts maize growth and nutrient absorption, with the best harvest index being P N K.
