Rice straw added to soil can increase nitrogen levels and rice yield, especially when combined with proper irrigation and fertilizer. The study found that incorporating rice straw led to more nitrogen in the soil, higher plant nitrogen uptake, and increased grain yield. In early rice, the best results were seen with continuous flooding and straw incorporation with nitrogen supply, while in later rice, intermittent irrigation with straw incorporation and nitrogen supply was most effective. Overall, rice straw incorporation can boost rice production by improving soil nitrogen levels and plant growth.
