Optimizing Nitrogen and Density Boosts Rice Yield and Quality.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen and spacing between rice plants affect the yield and quality of rice grains. They found that using 225 kg of nitrogen per hectare and spacing the plants 26.6 cm apart increased the percentage of ripe grains and grain weight for one type of rice, while using 150 kg of nitrogen and spacing the plants 33.3 cm apart worked better for another type. These conditions also helped reduce chalkiness, increase protein content, and improve the overall quality of the rice grains.
