China's Rule of Law Faces Transformation and Challenges in Modern Society
The rule of law in China has evolved over time, facing challenges and changes. Initially influenced by revolutionary thinking, it later encountered social transformation during the reform and opening up era. The law construction in the past three decades has shown that law is often seen as intertwined with politics, diluting its independence and authority. Western legal theories have also been used to deconstruct the rule of law in China. It is important to recognize the relative independence of law and the methods of the rule of law in Chinese legal construction.
