Soil erosion rates in Ningzhen Mountain linked to human activity.
Yellow-brown soil erosion rates in Ningzhen Mountain were studied using 137Cs technique. Soil erosion was found to be caused by vegetation destruction. The study determined that paddy fields have lower erosion rates compared to dry farmland. Uncultivated soils showed slight water erosion, while cultivated soils experienced moderate to strong water erosion due to human activity. Restoring farmland to forests can help reduce soil erosion.
