The study looked at how different types of fertilizer and planting density affect the quality of rice in cold regions. They found that increasing nitrogen fertilizer decreased the protein content of rice. Fatty acid content was negatively related to nitrogen fertilizer in the granular stage. The amylose content of rice decreased as more total nitrogen fertilizer was added.
