Pulse-feed Wetlands Boost River Water Quality, Outperforming Conventional Methods
The study compared two types of wetlands for cleaning polluted river water. The pulse-feed vertical-flow wetland improved oxygen levels better than the conventional wetland. Both wetlands removed similar amounts of COD and TP, but the pulse-feed wetland was more effective at removing NH3-N and TN. Overall, the pulse-feed wetland had higher removal rates for NH3-N and TN compared to the conventional wetland.
