The study tested a sewage treatment system combining a wetland with a chemical pre-treatment. Using a low-cost coagulant, the system removed over 85% of COD and a significant amount of TP. However, it was less effective at removing NH3-N, only managing about 10%. The effectiveness varied depending on the plant growth in the wetland.
