Optimal irrigation and mulch depth boosts cotton production and economic benefits.
The study looked at how different amounts of water and depths of buried drip irrigation tape affect cotton production. The best combination for highest yield was found to be 4,200 m3/hm2 of water and burying the tape 5 cm deep. It was also discovered that the tape should be buried deeper with less water and more shallowly with more water. Using plastic film mulch in the farmland resulted in higher economic benefits, but farmland without mulch had better social and ecological benefits.
